Christmas in September

Backlog 9/30/2010:

So when we were deciding which clothes to pack on the plane with us, and which to ship via FedEx, I thought..."Oh, we are moving in the Spring. I'll take some t-shirts and a fleece jacket".

Bad decision.

Though, technically Spring, it felt more like late Autumn. We were freezing. People rarely saw us without our fleece and many layers. Our FedEx packages, were actually supposed to beat us here, but we knew they would probably be a few days late. Try a few weeks late.

When the FedEx man rang our door today I had to fight the urge to hug him. Seriously. He lugged in all of our numerous boxes and we went after them like a fat kid at Baskin Robbins

We couldn't believe all of the really cool things we packed that we had totally forgot about. Sweaters. Martini Shaker. Knitted Angler Fish. Scrabble. (on a side note, we played Scrabble for about 8 consecutive days after receiving it). Unwrapping it all with a steaming cup of coffee, it acutally felt like Christmas. And like we were a bit closer to being home. (cue gay music).

  1. Sweet! First follower! I am awesome.

Glad to hear things are starting to get back to "normal" for you guys. Sweaters and Scrabble...it's all about the simple things, right?
